A Good-Bye Dinner with Friends

Before I left, Rosi was a cutie and invited a couple of mutual friends for a meal before I left. I thought it was just a general gathering but apparently it was a birthday AND going away party, and my friends bought gifts for me. It was a little over whelming but luckily they didn't make a big deal out of it! We went to Thai Aroy Dee which is a real hidden treasure in Leeds. It has off the chart ratings on trip adviser and if you don't get there early, you're queuing around the block. The menu has tonnes to offer, and the little greedy pigs we are ordered the set menu for four people. I was cocky and thought 'I won't take the dish names as they'll be on the menu and I'll just sneakily use them', what a fool.. the set menu we had is not on that list :( boo.

ANYWAYS. We all started by trying different drinks - Helen (from this post) got coconut juice kinda thing - it had little coconut chunks in too (at the back)! I had Pandan juice to remind me of my travels in Indonesia (green bread and peanut butter, the cup in front), Rosi had an Indonesian coffee which was incredible (right), and Zeynep had coke (left)!

For starters we got the mixed Hors d'oeurves

we then got a soup

got egg fried/basmati rice

A delicious beef curry, realllllllll tasty. If I knew what it was I'd recommend it!
This chicken was SPICY. Super spicy, I couldn't handle much of it.

I'm gutted this dish is blurry - it was my favourite, lots of veg with a tasty sauce, again quite spicy but I ate most it so it couldn't be that bad ;)

sweet and sour (ish, Thai style not Chinese) King Prawns.

Having all suitably had our fill, we paid and went our separate ways. Rosi and I had more plans that evening so we took a walk and found this lovely little grassy area, right in the middle of the city! Having been here for 4 years I have no idea how I didn't know about it before, but then again, thinking about it, I've had no need for it before. Now I'm considering it to be my room of requirement.

My friends bought me some nail varnishes and Rosi's nails were bare so we sat for 45 minutes painting them, we chatted and ate cinnamon buns (that Rosi hand made for me, very spoiled!)

A lovely meal with friends at a delicious place - great value for money, you should definitely go if you're ever up that way!

I AM A GRADUAND

What a funny word, I had to re type it like 5 times cause it is not something my fingers are use to. I literally had the best day! Although some of it was spent running around like a headless chicken and I didn't really see my grandparents, everyone saw me graduate and we had tonnes of photo's, I didn't trip up the stairs and I just had a wonderful day :) it was also icy to begin with and it rained throughout the day (hence my wispy hair) but that could not ruin my excitement, it was exactly what I wanted!

here are some photo's (I opted for a white dress because I didn't want to be drowned in black, and I saw someone from a previous year and thought the colours suited well enough)

this is a photo heavy post, here's a chance to escape now! (I don't recommend it though)

Catch up

My mum and I went to browse a couple of shops on Sunday whilst having a quick catch up. We bought lots of lovely things;

this sweet top from the TU sale in Sainsbury's that we decided
to take in and add a belt to so it now looks like this;

this jacket from Matalan's - it's ridiculously warm and I'm excited to wear it on bonfire night/fireworks night

this beautiful hairband from the kids section :D I haven't figured out what to wear it with yet but I will..

AWOL Annie

Sorry it's been so long! I'm working 10-4 which is quite perfect because I get a mini lie in and I still have the evening to do fun things and enjoy our week of British summer! I woke up early this morning, half an hour early!!, and I just couldn't convince myself to get out of bed. Then I thought to myself, yeah but you could blog and you haven't in a while. So here we are, you guys got me out of bed and that is more than helpful as I got some other stuff done too :)

So on Monday evening I caught up with a very good friend, Rachael. We're both at different unis and in different places in our lives but I just love it when you can come back together, have a massive catch up, and feel like you were never apart :)

we took a long walk through the lanes to the beach, it was a perfect mix of warmth from sun and coolness from shade - especially with the amount of hills there was!

we went the wrong way

but it was still pretty

and we ended up where we wanted to :)

it's so pretty

it smelt sooo good

and on the way back, we saved a frog

there were beautiful views

and I just love it when you can see the full shape of the moon (not that this picture is clear, but I could see it)

yesterday after work, me and kitty sunbathed for an hour and then I went to the cinema to see the dark knight. OH MY GOODNESS IT'S GOOD. You need to watch all 3 but I recommend you do it, so good. But I am a geek for a good superhero.

A tea filled couple of days

As I'm not back from uni long, I have to catch up with as many people as possible in a short amount of time! This means lots of tea, lots of chatting and definitely lots of laughs.

On Thursday my good friend Hollie and I went to a library cafe (probably not the best place for us) and nattered away for ages. The mugs that we were given were so cute and, even though service was kinda rude, it was a sweet little place.

I had tea as I'm still making up for giving it up for lent, and a flapjack.
Hollie had coffee and walnut cake!

I had also had my haircut before this meeting and was getting used to the new style...

I've still got my coat on so you can't really see the ends but you can see that I went for a block side fringe! I'm still not sure about it, need to wash it and see how it turns out.

The next day, my mum, Godmother and I went to Totnes. I love Totnes, it's a brilliant place. I love the drive there, the things people sell, the cafe's, the buskers, the shops/market and also the people, they're all so nice! I actually left my only purchase (new lunchbox) in the cafe we had tea in, and they kept it aside for me, just lovely.

I tried a new herbal tea - liquorice and Mint, it was nice but I don't think I'd like a whole pack

This shop had so many teas to try!

Here's mum enjoying her hot chocolate

and the whole shop is kitted out with fish tanks - some scary and ugly :\

we went to our resident favourite, route 37 cafe and left very happy customers - as always.

It was a lovely day and there were so many wonderful things at the market that I can't wait to have my own house to furnish one day!

Have you been up to anything wonderful this week?
