Happenings from Yesterday

Yesterday I spent the day with my sister and niece, it was a really lovely day as always, which makes it so much harder to think about leaving. We went to a store to pick up some things I'll need for the move which was handy, and spent the day... well eating to be honest haha, and chatting :)

After a sushi lunch we had pop tarts - two different flavours, bursting berry and apple something (both delicious, apple was my fave though). I got the first two out of the toaster fine, but they were rather warm. Then Isabelle wanted to come to me so as I was holding her, Natalie got the second load of pop tarts out of the toaster (we both had one of the flavours each). Well. She didn't realise how hot it was and managed to FLING it out of the toaster onto the plate. As it laid there, shiny side down, I knew it was a problem, I don't know how - we never ever have pop tarts - but I knew. So she managed to get the other one out better and I said 'you need to turn that over now!' and when she tried, it was stuck. Not sticky stuck, not slightly annoying that the flavouring is mostly left on the place and Ill have to eat a little bit with each mouthful, soaking-in-boiling-water-and-then-scraping-with-something-hard stuck. It was ridiculous! But hilarious at the same time, and I wonder where that little nugget of information that was buried in my head came from.

(so much worse than this.)

Have you ever had such disastrous pop-tart issues? Do you have any further tips or hints, because we have a pack of twelve to ruin else... haha

Early Birthday Celebrations

I asked my mum if we could have a birthday BBQ again this year - it was very nice last year (she likes a lotta variety and so do I!) so I wanted a repeat. It was a couple of days earlier than my actual day of birthday this year, as my favourite person is back on that day and we're going to have to get him from the airport!

I had pimms, twoooo cakes, lots of chicken, vegetable kebabs, sausages, burgers and lamb, and I spent it with some wonderful people :)

(no Isabelle is not autistic, it was her father!)

Day 31, Friday: A vivid memory

So, the final day has come. I'd like to take a little moment to say that I've thoroughly enjoyed this challenge, it's been nice to blog about things that aren't my usual thing, but the day to day blogging is just a bit too much for me! I think it's probably just because I've been so busy this month (typically) but it's been a little challenge fitting it in everyday, and I certainly haven't had a consistent time of posting!

A vivd memory. hmm.

Somehow, I was always my uncle Vic's favourite. We all knew it, and I don't think anyone particularly minded (I hope not), because I always used my powers of persuasion to benefit the whole group (two cousins, my sister and I). I remember one evening Naomi and I sat in the car listening to songs - kung fo fighting was certainly one of them, when we decided that we wanted to have a sleepover but it wasn't planned. Natalie and Naomi convinced me it was my job to go and ask, so I figured out what to say, put on my best puppy eyes, wrinkled my hands together and walked in. I stood and explained how we had just had so much fun that we didn't want it to end and that we'd like to invite ourselves to stay over his house, if that was possible. OF COURSE HE SAID YES. haha, well he looked at my mum a couple of times (I'm guess they were checking with each other before he committed) and then said yes. So we drove to his and I remember he had a very excitable dog - I think it was a collie. And then I remember us all in the living room listening to B'Witched - blame it on the weather man, and the post man one (because Vic was once a post man).

I've only just really realised that we spent a lot of with my cousins when we were younger, which makes me happy because I hope it's the same for my children and my sisters :) I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Weekly Roundup #30

I've had a bit of a crazy week. I've been working on my essay, on my dissertation, on interview prep and for money. I had the interview, I got declined for the job (with good feedback though so it's not all tears- in fact there were none!), and I saw how supportive and loving my friends and family really are. I saw an old friend I haven't seen in a long time, I met up with another friend, and of course I've spent my fair share with Belle and Natalie :)

I started off the week making my own granola which was insanely good

Natalie had her first Wagamama's experience on Wednesday (as did Belle!)
(yaki udon and chili squid)

we then saw the little tortoise

we also had cake and tea :)

lunch for work on Thursday

during the day out on Wednesday I found some washi tape, so of course I had to try it out.
I also want to keep track of the things I'm sending Michael :)

an evening ritual for my father and I is to sit and watch a film with dinner/afterwards depending on the time, this night we had flavoured hot chocolate too :) it's a good memory because we both knew the packets were in the cupboard and we both looked at each other with a cheeky smile  like 'IT'S TIME.' aha

trying out drinks in starbucks, this was some kind of lime coffee infusion, it was good!

then the buffet dinner with the long lost friends. I love desserts. and definitely got my moneys worth. haha

Michael's most recent parcel.

It's been a good week but I have not done enough of my essay! That said, I have managed to crack on today and did a fair bit on Friday, so the total now stands at 4,416/6,000. Slow and steady, it WILL be done by the next weekly roundup. Oh also, I'm still sticking at the 30 day shred, I had to miss a day because of giving blood but I worked extra hard the next day. I've lost two pounds but my arms, back and thighs really feel different. Still waiting for my six pack to shine through though!

Happy Birthday Sissy!

Today is my big sisters 23rd birthday! She is getting so old, but I will never be as old as her and I like that fact. I'm pretty sure my sissy doesn't know how proud I am of her, so I'm just going to share it here; she has a mortgage her own house, a husband and the most beautiful and perfect baby girl called Isabelle. She has a degree, and has had a fancy job in HR AND a beautiful cat called Mr Tibbs. She's certainly made it in life which makes going to her for advice a super easy job. She's easy to talk to and always ready to listen, she's creative, loving and open to new ideas. I don't know what I'd do without her if I'm honest.

These photo's are from when Belle was still in her tummy;

So happy birthday to the best and most beautiful sister a girl could ask for, I am very lucky to have her and I hope she has the bestest day possible without my attendance. (We'll doing something me, you and Belle when I'm back :p ) SO MUCH LOVE XXXXXXXXX

So yesterday I took a walk to my sisters house a passed some cute things on the way;

and then, when at Natalie's, Mr Tibbs stole my seat the rascal
and then when I was chopping some chicken he was pawing at me for some ha

dinner was yummy - chicken with cheese wrapped in bacon with curly fries and sweetcorn

then we did some making :)

It was a lovely lovely afternoon and evening, and I even got some bargains in the charity shop that I'm going to share with you soon! Hope you had a swell day
