Henna Hair Treatment Wax

I bought this hair conditioner the other day because I wanted to give my long locks a treat. I've got some Argan oil shampoo/conditioner/oil but it's rather expensive stuff and I treat it like gold dust, rather than use it when my hair needs it. Therefore I needed something more. I wasn't really hoping for great things from this because it was a good deal, but I was wonderfully surprised! 

The label says: pure henna is extracted from henna(lawsonia) leaves ; and makes a excellent ingredient for deep penetrating hair conditioners. Natural classic henna treatment wax revitalises all types of hair, particular hair which has been damaged by bleaching, perming, or tinting; use it regularly to make your hair lustrous, stronger and more beautiful to look at. 6-12 applications depending on length, porosity and thickness of hair. Will not add colour or change colour of your hair.

The directions are to wash your hair, then massage the henna through the hair and the scalp. Then cover your hair with a damp hot towel for 15 to 20 minutes depending on the condition if the hair, you Can also apply before taking a hot bath because the steam will activate the process, then rinse out thoroughly and style as normal.

I currently have only tried it whilst in the bath, so my review is slightly limited (I've just read another where the person slept with it in her hair overnight and that sounds incredible, so I'm going to try that out too). That said, after I first used this product and dried my hair (with heat protection spray), it made such a difference! I was so pleased with the results I decided I am buying it as presents for some friends for Christmas if I can find it again. My hair is tamed, softer, shinier and it just looks so much nicer :) I am super pleased with it, have you ever tried it before? What else would you recommend?

Moroccan Argan Oil Shampoo/Conditioner/Oil

I regularly (read: always, in this wonderful heat) just twist up and clip my hair, and it looks okay, but today it looks GREAT. ha. I like to think my skillz are developing, but I reckon that it's not the case. Well perhaps that's part of it. But I think it may also be because my hair is in INCREDIBLE condition after using the Moroccan oil shampoo, conditioner and oil deal I shared with you a little while ago? It took a long time to get here (just over a week) but boy was it worth it! Even the feeling of my wet hair after I washed the shampoo out was different, and after I blew it dry it was just SO GOOD. I cannot stop swishing and touching it, odd I know. I've read lots of reviews on it but I'm not the biggest fan of the smell to be honest, but that is my only downside and I can certainly put up with it if I get luscious locks in return. Definitely what was needed.

Just for Jasmine, I would like to inform you all that Michael is home TOMORROW! Hopefully.. if the flights are settled now.. and I am FAR TOO EXCITED TO NOT TELL YOU ;) It is also my birthday, think it'll be a quiet one this year which is perfect, and more than fine by me :) 

Full Repair, deep infusion

I mentioned last week that I had another product review coming up and here it is! I wrote about this product a longggggg time ago, (7th of April 2012! Almost a year ago!), but I'm ready to re-review it now.

John Freida's full repair deep infusion hair oil.

I've not written mean things about this product before, but I definitely didn't like it at first. When I put it on my hair it felt like it was too much, it felt like it made it greasy and it felt like it made it worse. I didn't like it. But I re-found it in my draw probably in October/November time, and decided to give it another go. 

There were (and still are) no clear directions of use, so I never realised that I'd been doing it wrong. 

I treated it like serum, I wanted it to tame certain pieces of hair and keep my hair as controlled as I wanted it.

That isn't it's job. It's job is to offer a bit more lovin'. A bit more care. If you feel like your hair is looking a bit frazzled, a bit unkempt, a bit wild, THAT's when you use it. Yes it looks a little wet/greasy when you first put it on, but it doesn't last long as it gets soaked in and it really makes your hair shine. 

I couldn't love this product anymore now I've realised this. so here are my directions for use:

squirt 2-4 sprays on your fingers

rub them together to have an even coverage (but not on your palms, it makes it harder to actually get it in your hair)

disperse it through your hair (more on the lengths than the roots), with a bit extra on those crazy little alfalfa bits (I have so many),

This was the point that I was like THIS PRODUCT IS HORRIBLE EREAGHEREHGEHARGHA.

But hold on, take a step back, wait a couple of minutes (make a cuppa),

Then come back to the mirror, brush it out and admire how lovely your hair looks :) 

Have you ever tried this product? Or anything from the range? Or even had the same experience with hair oils?! Perhaps it was just me :)

Hair Care

Michael took me into town recently to buy his brother's birthday present. While we did buy one present I spent a LONG time browsing hair care products. I spent way too long in there. I'd feel bad on myself if it was just me for the amount of time I spent looking but it wasn't, poor old Michael had to endure it too.

So, I was looking for a hair oil; I've used serums in the past and I like them, but they always feel a bit too much. Emma writes about oils a lot and has recommended a couple, as has Lyzi. Boots have a 3 for 2 offer on hair care at the moment, so I thought I'd take full advantage of this!

I chose one from John Freida's range as Lyzi was impressed, and I have to admit that I got all the oils/serums and chose the best smelling one - I love it when my hair smells nice!

Next, as my hair is quite long and I only really trust one lady with my hair, it needs treatment in between cuts. I don't usually do too much - I condition every time I wash my hair, I use heat protection spray, I only back comb once a week max and I don't actually use heat on my hair that often (Especially now my straighteners are broken :'( ). I still decided on this hair mask by Trevor Sorbie, again, because it smelt nice. I can't wait to use it, I don't need to wash my hair but I want to just so I can have beautiful smelling hair! If you've looked at this product you'll know it's for blonde hair, and if you look at me, you'll know I'm a brunette. I chose the blonde one anyways because I'd like my hair to be a bit lighter and, while I don't think this treatment will do that, I don't want the brunette one to darken it either. 

Lastly, I decide upon some salt spray. I am lucky because my hair is naturally wavy (if I spend time on it when I get out of the shower), however I tend not to do this because I am lazy and it just goes frizzy. Whilst I've got some time off over Easter I'm going to see how easy this Charles Worthington rough and tousled salt spray makes things, and go from there!

as you can see, the label at the side is lifted. this really bothered me in the shop and I tried to look for one without the label lifted but there wasn't one. hmph. when I got home and read the can, it said there are hair industry secrets underneath the label and everything became clear! 

So yes, I have already used to oil and it is lovely, smells so good and tames my hair. I can't wait to use the others! Have you tried any of these? what are your favourites?
