Friday's Fadaise #6

I have had a very good Friday this week! I met some friends (Eley - really that's just Ellie, she just spells it like that, and Kate) for tea and cake at a sweet cafe this morning

I had tea and a lemon cupcake

Then after my lecture everyone stuck around for a mini gathering and we had tonnes of food, prosecco and cava.. which you can imagine made me rather giggly. I called mum on my walk home which she loved ha.

This is everyone in my class

This was a wonderful Japanese treat, tasted like peanut butter :s
And I like this little fella keeping an eye on me as I'm working
This was my present from Kate which also makes me happy. Origami sticky notes!

How was your Friday?

Friday's Fadaise #5

So, I've started this post a little early as there were a couple of things that happened on the Thursday that'd be just perfect for this post.
  1. I noticed I start a lot of my posts with 'So'. I can't tell if it's kind of annoying or not?
  2. Michael just said two things that make him happy - not having to wear socks, and running through a door before it closes (what an accomplishment).
  3. On Friday, Michael and I went to the aquarium
  4. we also had fish and chips on the sea front
  5. we also had an ice cream (I had pistachio, he had bubblegum - I wanted some bubblegum and I know he didn't buy it just so I could try it, but I think to pretend he did!)
  6. I went to my nan's for a wonderful last meal
  7. Michael came along for some rice pudding and got caught by my granddad haha
  8. I found Rose over at the Londoner making a new hazelnut hot chocolate drink - Michael and I are totally trying that out!
Most of the days photos are on Michael's phone but here are some I managed to snap before my camera died

This is a shark sack, and the little dark shadow in there was wriggling around loads!
We both love those little hermit crabs although my love comes from Finding Nemo and Michael's never seen that

This guy kept making me laugh, they'd pop up in all kinds of crevices and had a little grin on its face

teehee, most of these are sleeping sharks but can you see that cheeky fish that's trying to blend in? we decided he wanted to be cool too, and he really is

This also made us chuckle, I said it was like the one on the left was in the corner because it was in a mood, and the one on the right was going over to see if it was alright, but then got close enough, knew it was in a mood and walked away haha.

I shall try and get the photo's off of Michael's phone tonight for the rest of the trip, and also the ones of his surprise trip (he enjoyed it, FYI :) )

Hope you had a wonderful Friday too - how's your weekend going? There won't be the regular weekly catch up tomorrow as I have to drive back to uni (boo) and I'll be in the car for about 5-6 hours.

Friday's Fadaise #4

For the original idea behind this post please see here. So, Daisy went in for her MOT today (I had flash backs of something similar to this happening ) and I've been pootering about mums little village like town bit trying to occupy myself whilst the work is being done.

Things making me smile today;

  • A fly buzzing around woke me up. He's been following me around the house even though I have windows and the door open. I think we're friends now.
  • browsing the Co-op and remembering that I wanted to make Florentines! (perhaps there will be more to come on this)
  • buying some lentils to try making Theana's lentil soup
  • buying a new nail varnish partly (read: mainly) because it's called coralicious

  • unknowingly walking over a draincover and thinking I was going to fall into oblivion and die because I could hear the gushing water so loud (that isn't even an exaggeration I was honestly scared haha)
  • a man who was up a ladder frowned at me, I have never been frowned at from the top of a ladder before.
  • the sun is out! and sitting out on the porch reading cookery books
  • looking up long driveways imagining my self living in such houses
  • making my bed (which was covered in hair) and realising I could never have an affair (aside from the obvious reasons) because I'd leave a trail behind incriminating myself.
I hope you're having a wonderful Friday too!

Friday's Fadaise #3

Today my sister and I took our grandparents to a lovely paint-your-own pottery place today in a sweet town we visit quite often.

funny things that happened; making faces at Natalie in the mirror whilst she was driving

I painted this lovely photo frame

I thought this little critter was a mini hedgehog on a car (it's a chestnut case)

Oh Hello there little friend!

Granddad said this was the best cup of tea he's had in years and I was impressed

Gingerbread coffee! So good, would have that again. Lovely catch up with Faye <3

All in all a pretty good day :)

Friday's Fadaise #2

So, today, as I walked out the door generally forgetting about Friday's Fadaise, I saw a horse and its rider walking past my road. If you knew where I lived you'd be like... what?! and then I clicked, yep, it's Friday..

Number two on the list is that, being an adult, I'm allowed to choose my own breakfast and today I allowed myself a pack of fruit pastilles (if you're a parent and concerned for me, don't worry I don't do it that often haha).

Number three is that both ends of said fruit pastilles were red! I'm not a fan of the purple ones so I had to open the other end and I had tonnes of reds, always a plus.

4. I always pass a certain roundabout on my way to work and friends have said that little bunnies live on it. I've never seen them so I've always been a little dubious, however, today I saw them - super cute and sweet! and it made my day.

5. Blowing raspberries and playing sniffer dog at work.

6. After a long long walk to the beach and park, when we finally got back a kid said 'Stacey I've got the best game.. you pretend to sleep and I'll try and wake you up!!' yes please my friend, I'd love to play that game right now!

7. Cuddles with this fellow

8. A simple addition to an outfit that made me feel tonnes better (the belt)

9. going to the cinema and being chosen to take part in a giveaway - Michael and I won a picnic blanket!

10. Completing a survey in M&S food and finding out that I'd be given a £5 gift voucher after. Then buying my favourite Calamari/prawn dishes

I've had an incredibly lucky and super day today, with Andy's first rugby match tomorrow I think it's going to be an all round super weekend!

Friday's Fadaise #1

I've recently been pondering all kinds of things. Mainly in relation to yesterday's post about feeling a little lost and like I'm wasting my time on Earth, but also because so many incredibly good things have happened to me in life, both big and small, and both ones I can remember and those I cannot. I don't want to ever lose these things and, while I have a little diary of all the great times I never want to forget, I thought a new feature that I'm going to be introducing would mend the gap.

I really honestly am one of those people who is usually always happy and who can walk down the street and find 5 things that make me smile. I know some people, some of my friends, who don't have this attitude, so I wanted to share with all you guys the good little things about my day.

Fadaise: [fa-dez] nf, silly remark; pl. nonsense.

My mum and I decided to go off to Totnes today as it's one of our favourite little villages and we always have a lovely time (plus she treats me to lunch and some lace!). Great things about this day;

1. singing along with mum to Adele in the car (we do this every totnes trip, it's not the same if we don't)

2. Seeing this little fella (an odd mushroom) growing up high on the side of a wall

3. Seeing fudge being made and shaped in between serving customers

4. Having lunch at my favourite place, definitely recommend everyone to go there!

 5. having eyes bigger than my belly and not being able to finish the breakfast

6. random signs that I don't quite understand but appreciate it must mean something to someone

7. noticing how mums flowers have turned from purple to turquoise, how peculiar

7. my new poetry book *swoon* as mentioned here

8. my new lace, I like making myself imagine at least 3 things I'll do with it before I let myself fall in love with it

9. the man driving behind me on the way home who let his dog sit in the front seat.

10. Lemonade ice lollies.

So yes, I'm already a fan of this feature because it means I have to be aware all day of what I'm going to write about later on, which means I'm always on the look out for lovely, smile-inducing things.
