Mama Mia ikea

Michael and I have spent so much time at ikea since we moved away from home. Ikea was some what of a novelty. When my mum and Wayne came up, we went, when Michael's parents came up, we went, dad came up today, and we went again- but that's because I need to return a shelving set. Each time you go you get to 'swipe a surprise', and we've won things like a donut, a torch, a food hall voucher, and for all our hard work this time, we decided to use our restuarant voucher. £13 for food for two.

So we got all of this....

And paid 65p. What a day.

Ps please don't think I'm rude and ignoring you all. We still haven't got the internet sorted at the flat which means I'm still doing everything on my phone. Unfortunately on the blogger app there's not option to reply to comments, and when I try to use safari to sign into google it just freezes. So I'll still be AWOL on the comment front for a while :( sorry

Masters Graduation

So, I took a long ol' trip up to Leeds from Sunday - Wednesday this week, so I could visit lots of friends (Gemma, Gaynor, Theana, Harriet, Bex, Ben, Eley, Jess, Kate, Joss, Sally-Ann, Mark, Stevie, Lauren, Allison and Colin to name just a few), and also graduate! Both sets of parents came up on the Tuesday night and we arranged ourselves on the Wednesday - there were professional photos, graduate receptions and hundreds of people milling about. I got two colours on my hood this year, to signify that I was a postgraduate student graduating, which felt pretty special, and I also got a sweet little pin with the Leeds uni crest on it!

All in all it was a good but busy day, and the weather on the drive back was awful!! But still, we made it home alive :)

Conversations with: My dad

I have a very good relationship with my dad; it's just me and him most of the time. So today, dad and I went to get me some new tyres. On the way back we heard on the radio that the word of the year (or something like that) is "selfie".

Dad: What even is a selfie?
Me: It's where you use your phone like this (demonstrates position) to take a photo of yourself/others, but it's taken by yourself too.
Dad: Oh.
Moments silence
Dad: you do that a lot, don't you?
Me: No not really (slightly outraged).
Dad: oh, oh, alright then.

and then I laughed. I half explained that taking photo's of outfits for the blog isn't really called a selfie and that I do not remember the last time I pouted (that's a key feature of a good, shameless selfie in my opinion). He still didn't get it, but I smiled all the way home.

on a side note, I am considering starting the Thankful Project tomorrow, have you done it? Would you like to?
