Glorious weekend

We have had the best weekend with friends- meeting in London, stopping for coffee, wandering around Southbank, Covent Garden and Brixton food market before coming home to a tapas style dinner.

Whilst it is certainly getting chillier I do love Autumn. Today has been full of big scarves and coat shopping... I am in love with Laura Ashley.

Feast Food Festival

The trip Michael and I took to London luckily coincided with the Feast London food festival (see facebook here, and website here). We had no idea it was going to be there, we didn't plan for it to happen, but we are both quite big foodie's so it was really great to have the chance to go along! When we got to Tobacco Dock it was incredible to see the transformation - there were stalls, fires, heaters, music bands and such a variety food - there were two floors filled!

Obviously and importantly, we had a plan. Browse all the stalls on one quick walk around, decide what took our fancy the most and then go back to the appropriate stations. Michael started off with BBQ pulled pork.

I'm going to put a page break here as there are TONNES of photos but they're definitely worth it, read on...

London 2013, part two

On the second day we woke up a bit later and headed off to Camden market. We wandered around the stalls and then decided to grab some food. It reminded me of Indonesian food halls where you could get whatever you wanted from a wide range of stalls, so handy AND tasty.

I had a mushroom pizza (cooked on the spot) and Michael had Chinese!

I don't know if you're getting this theme but animals in London are rather cheeky!

(quite a long post again so I'll let you escape now if you wish to)

London 2013, Part One.

It's been over a week since I last posted, what a bad blogger I am! I just hope it hints at how busy I have been... So Michael and I got back from London yesterday, and of course we had a lovely time. There are far too many photo's to share so there will be a couple of posts about the trip :)

On Tuesday, after my lecture, I hopped onto a train and headed south. I met Michael at the tube station and we got a tube to China town as I was craving chow mein! After dinner we took a walk around China Town (looking for a sweet shop we'd found once before) and found a place that sold bubble tea! My London-born housemate insisted we tried one the last time we visited but we couldn't find them, so this time it was certain we needed to try it.

it was nice to leave fog behind!
 my chow mein was amazing

I had the one on the left, mango blended with milk, and Michael had a lychee juice one

(I've put a page break in because this is going to be one longggggg post, but please keep reading!)
