The Truth Hurts.

This post it from the guys at 'Things We Forget' made me consider a lot.

I went on a date today with a lovely guy. to embrace the present, or be spontaneous or something, but ultimately to have fun and see if we clicked. If you wanted to know, I love the guy as a friend but nope, no sparkle. But that made me consider this post-it even more.

The past is much nicer than the scary present, you know what's happened, you can't change it, it's all done and dusted. It's easier to live in and not hurt people's feelings with a 'sorry I don't want to go on another date'. I do hate hurting people's feelings in general, because I know what it's like to be on the other end of that, and it's never pleasant. But I can't keep living my life scared to do things, like go on a date, just because I might end up hurting his feelings. That might not be the outcome at all, and if I don't do it I might miss my chance. That said, I really need help getting to that confident place, because right now, I still don't want to upset anyone. Do you have any tips?

I've been quiet again today as I've got deadlines tomorrow and Thursday, and an exam Friday - definition of a busy week!

  1. I'm sorry you have to go through this - dating can be very tough! My advice to you is to say yes at every opportunity that comes your way, and don't worry about hurting anyones feelings so long as you do it nicely. It's better to let someone down gently than to leave them hanging, right?

You got this! Good luck :)
